Syracuse Hancock International Airport took possession of its second Fresia F2000 on December 15, 2006. The Fresia F2000, a highly specialized airport snow removal unit, takes multi-tasking to a new level at Syracuse. A combination plow, sweeper and blower, the Fresia F2000 enables the Airport to replace multiple units in its snow removal plan with one unit and to more effectively deploy its personnel during a snow event.

Syracuse was asked by the equipment distributor, Fortbrand Services, to act as a test site for the Fresia F2000's effectiveness in typical Central New York winter climate. Henry Foster, President of Fortbrand Services, said “We selected Syracuse Hancock International Airport as the North American test airport for the Fresia F2000 multi-function, high-speed, compact runway sweeper due to Syracuse’s reputation for having a very challenging winter operations environment, including an average of 120 inches of snow per season, and our confidence in the ability of the Syracuse maintenance and operations staff to provide a thorough evaluation of the Fresia F2000's performance and capabilities.”
