Strategic Sales Manager (UK)

Job Description
Summary/objective
The Strategic Sales Manager will develop and execute territory sales plans and strategies, identify and win target accounts at airports and with ground handlers, and drive revenue growth through proactive field activity and relationship-building. This is a hands-on, team-oriented sales leadership role for a true closer and strategist who thrives on travel and direct selling.
Essential functions
- Develop and implement a comprehensive sales plan and strategy aligned with Fortbrand’s growth objectives and product/service portfolio.
- Identify, research and prioritize target customers at airports, airlines and ground handling companies across the UK (and internationally as required).
- Proactively generate new business through cold calling, on-site visits, networking, and sustained field activity (high level of footwork expected).
- Build and present compelling value propositions and tailored commercial proposals that demonstrate Fortbrand’s ROI and operational benefits.
- Manage the full sales cycle: prospecting, qualification, product demonstration, negotiation, closing and handover to operations/service teams.
- Travel regularly to customer sites and industry events; represent Fortbrand professionally at airports and in client meetings.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams (operations, product, marketing, customer success) to ensure smooth onboarding and high customer satisfaction.
- Lead by example in a team environment—mentor colleagues, share best practices and contribute to a high-performance sales culture.
- Maintain accurate CRM records, forecast sales, report pipeline status and meet/exceed revenue targets.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity and customer needs to refine sales tactics and inform product/service development.
- Collaborate with Business Development and GSE teams to align sales initiatives with product development and promotional campaigns.
- Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics, pipeline forecasts, and market trends.
- Oversee and develop proposal development, contract negotiations, and pricing strategies.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and internal sales policies.

- Ability to travel domestically and internationally, as required.
Education and Experience
- Proven sales experience (B2B) with a strong track record of achieving targets—experience in aviation, ground handling, logistics, or related sectors preferred.
- Demonstrable ability to develop sales plans/strategies and execute them effectively.
- Comfortable and experienced with cold calling and extensive face-to-face selling.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
